In 2010 when I did a portrait shooting I used a golden thermal sheet to make the background more interesting. I was immediately thrilled by the warm light radiating from the golden sheet. Soon after I thought about the moments which make people happy and decided to find a way to capture these moments. The idea of the Rescuesheets was born!

Sometimes I sit an entire evening in my studio with tiny scissors cutting out photos for the Rescuesheets. It’s delicate work and in a way you could say that it saves me because in these moments I’m so absorbed in my work. It’s relaxing. It’s a very manual process.

The first series “Rescuesheets – Make my day” was created from digitally altered images, cut out with a special technique and applied to a golden thermal blanket. What started as an experiment with different materials became a growing collection of unique photo collages.
